Description
Just one of the pictures I took at the main Cosplay contest at A-Kon 21 this year. One of the coolest costumes I have seen. It won Best in Show.
And for all you too young to know, this is a Mystic from the 82' movie 'The Dark Crystal'. Truly a great film. Billed as the first ever live-action feature film done with no human beings ever showing on the screen. There may be a sequel 'The Power of the Dark Crystal' (maybe in '11 but it has been in and out of production from back in 06) (I hope it will be good -if it gets done).
The person that put this together basically made it in the same way as the originals where done (walking around squatted down and using one arm for the head and neck). You would never know it but the cosplayer was 49 years old (so don't be thinking that just because someone is older -or you are getting older- that something is impossible). She put a lot of work into this costume and I am really glad she did.
